B. Pietrini & Sons is a family-owned concrete construction company with a rich history dating back to our founding in 1948. We initially established ourselves as a player in the construction industry before focusing specifically on commercial concrete construction starting in 1960. Over the decades, we have built a strong reputation as a trusted resource in the tri-state area (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware) for delivering high-quality work and superior service.
Our early years were marked by our adaptability and willingness to embrace innovation. In the 1970’s, B. Pietrini & Sons became an early adopter of concrete pumping technology, a then-novel method that revolutionized the industry. While continuing our core contracting work, the establishment of a concrete pumping division in 1972 further enhanced our capabilities. During this time, we worked extensively with concrete pump manufacturers to improve the technology, making it more reliable and user-friendly. This innovation gave us a competitive edge, which was further solidified when we secured a distributorship from Schwing to sell and maintain pumps across the tri-state area.
Our growth was steady, driven by long-standing relationships with major general contractors in the region and a commitment to meeting the needs of a diverse client base, including engineers, building owners, developers, and institutions. Our expertise spans a wide range of concrete services, including foundations, flatwork, reinforced concrete, post-tension concrete, concrete paving, site work, and specialty applications like stamped decorative concrete and super-flat floors.
B. Pietrini & Sons has left its mark on numerous high-profile projects in the Philadelphia area, showcasing our capability and reliability. Notable works include Citizens Bank Park, The Kimmel Center, and Philadelphia’s tallest building, the Comcast Technology Center. In 2023, B. Pietrini & Sons placed one of the largest concrete mat foundation slabs in Philadelphia history at the Chubb Center with 5,537 cubic yards of concrete placed onto 650 tons of reinforcing steel. These projects highlight our ability to handle complex, large-scale endeavors while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
